a tribute to KYOTO (2003)
HOMO REMAN (ufacturensis) by Menny Olinger & Roll Weiland
" ReMaTec 2003 " in Amsterdam from 15-17 June 2003 the soundplastic was exposed at the RAI Exhibition Centre
With this title of their sound plastic, the artists Menny Olinger and Roll Weiland intent to link Remanufacturing with the KYOTO agreement on global warming. Remanufacturing which is the ultimate form of recycling or which gives old products a second life are contributing significantly to the sustainable environment . Remanufacturing which saves energy and raw material makes a significant contribution to the reduction of pollution and global warming. This sound plastic is made of the old material which is used in Remanufacturing automotive components , such as brakes, steering racks, electrical starters, transmissions etc. An other interesting side of this sound plastic is the fact that it is interactive! If a person moves close enough to it, it will produce sounds like sea-noise and singing seagulls. By moving the hand closer to the Globe it will produce other sounds like whalesong. The overall result is that the observer becomes part of a whole scenario or environment: he or she will realise that nothing is more precious and valuable then our Earth, because it constantly gives new life which must be preserved for all the times.

elektronische Anlasser, Wechselbetriebe usw.
