Der Betrachter - am effektvollsten ein Betrachter-Paar - löst durch seine Bewegungen mit den Händen zwischen den beiden Spalten und auf der Oberseite der Plastik unterschiedliche Klänge aus.

Die hörbaren Klänge stammen von akustisch zusammengestellten Tier- und Naturgeräuschen bzw. von verschiedenen Musikinstrumenten.

Die Plastik besteht aus dem Stamm eines Laubbaumes. Der Sockel ist ebenfalls aus Holz.

TECHNISCHE AUSFÜHRUNG

Die Sensoren sind:

a) 2 auf der Oberseite im Holz eingefassten lichtempfindlichen elektrische Widerstände (LDR) (Ø 9mm). Sie reagieren in unmittelbarer Umgebung auf Licht/Schatten und beeinflussen die Art der Klänge.

b) 20 Rote Lämpchen ("LEDs") und ihre gegenüberliegenden LDRs. Bewegungen mit der Hand zwischen den LEDs unterbrechen deren Lichtstrahl. Diese Unterbrechungen des Lichtstrahls lösen einen dem Sensor entsprechenden Einzelklang aus.

Die Art der Klänge können nach Wunsch thematisch angepasst werden.

PRÉSENTATION

Le spectateur - de préférence un couple de spectateurs - provoque par le mouvement de ses mains entre les deux fentes et sur la surface supérieur de la plastique des sons divers.

Les sons audibles proviennent de bruitages naturels préenregistrés resp. de diverses sources instrumentales

La plastique a été sculptée à partir d'un feuillu, le socle étant en acier.

RÉALISATION TECHNIQUE

Les capteurs sont des pointes en métal (Ø 1mm) encastrées dans le bois. Ils réagissent sur le toucher des doigts ou de la main et provoquent par là des impultions électriques. Les impultions sont transmises par un système électronique approprié au module sonore.

Le module sonore constitué de 16 sources sonores digitalisées, rend audible les impultions.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The viewer - most effectively two at a time - triggers diverse sounds by movement of hands around clefts and surface of the sculpture.

The sounds are produced by two independent midi devices, one rendering instrumental sounds, the other reproducing sounds the artist himself sampled. These Sounds can be adjusted to chosen topics.

The sculpture is made of the trunk of a deciduous-tree, the base is likewise made of wood.

TECHNICAL REALIZATION

The sensors are:

a) two photosensitive rheostats insertet into the wood (LDR, Ø 9mm).
They react to light and shadow close to the sculpture and induce the sort of sounds produced.

b) 20 red lamps (LEDs) and the LDRs facing them. Movement between these interrupt the beam of light, thus triggering a single sound corresponding to the sensor.

ADDITIONAL POSSIBILITIES

The kinds of sounds can be adjusted to chosen topics.
